Module 1: AI in the Modern Workplace: From Essentials to Agentic Systems
Module Goal:To demystify Artificial Intelligence and empower participants with the practical skills and critical perspective needed to leverage AI tools effectively and ethically in their professional environment.
Learning Outcomes:Understand the fundamental concepts and terminology of AI, Machine Learning, and LLMs.
 Utilize a range of generative AI tools for content creation, data analysis, and productivity.
 Critically evaluate the ethical implications of AI, including bias, privacy, and misinformation.
 Grasp the emerging concept of Agentic AI and its potential impact on future workflows.
 Develop a small-scale AI integration plan for a task within their own role.
 
 

 

 

Day 1: AI Essentials: Demystifying the Revolution
Session 1: What is AI? A Brief History and Core Concepts.Welcome, introductions, and course overview.
 From Turing to Transformers: A timeline of AI development.
 Key terminology explained: Artificial Intelligence vs. Machine Learning vs. Deep Learning.
 Introduction to Large Language Models (LLMs) and Generative AI.
Session 2: How AI is Shaping Our World.Real-world applications of AI in education, research, and administration.
 Interactive session: Identifying AI in our daily personal and professional lives.
  
Workshop: First prompts with a major AI tool (e.g., Gemini, ChatGPT). Participants will experiment with basic queries to understand the mechanics of interaction.
Evening (21:00): Welcome Dinner.Join us at a traditional Greek taverna for an evening of delicious food and great conversation. This is an informal opportunity for participants and trainers to get to know each other and network to kick off the week.
 
 

 

 

Day 2: Practical AI Tools for Professional Productivity
Session 1: The AI Toolkit for Content & Communication.Text Generation: Crafting emails, reports, course outlines, and marketing copy.
 Image Generation: Creating visuals for presentations and social media (e.g., Midjourney, DALL-E 3).
 Translation and Summarization tools.
Session 2: AI for Data & Task Management.Using AI for simple data analysis, visualization, and interpretation.
 AI assistants in project management tools (e.g., Notion AI, Asana AI).
  
Workshop: Participants will be given a case study (e.g., “Organize a departmental seminar”). They will use a suite of AI tools to draft the announcement, create a promotional image, and outline a project plan.
Day 3: AI Ethics and Critical Thinking in the Digital Age
Session 1: The Trust Equation: Bias, Privacy, and Transparency.Understanding how bias can enter AI models and its consequences.
 Data privacy concerns and the importance of GDPR compliance.
 The “black box” problem: Explainability in AI.
Session 2: Navigating Misinformation and Intellectual Property.Identifying AI-generated content, deepfakes, and misinformation.
 Critical thinking skills for evaluating AI outputs.
 Discussion on copyright, plagiarism, and proper citation for AI-assisted work.
Workshop: Analyzing case studies of AI ethical dilemmas. Group discussion and presentation of potential solutions or mitigation strategies.
 
 

 

 

Day 4: The Future is Now: Introduction to Agentic AI
Session 1: Beyond Chatbots: What is Agentic AI?Defining AI Agents: Autonomous systems that can reason, plan, and execute tasks.
 Contrasting traditional AI tools with agentic workflows (e.g., Auto-GPT, crewAI).
 Potential applications: research assistants, automated administrative processes, personalized learning tutors.
Session 2: Envisioning the Future of Work & Education.Brainstorming session: How could an AI agent transform a specific process at your institution?
 Final Q&A and recap of the week’s key learnings.
Workshop: Participants will draft a simple “Agentic AI” workflow for a task relevant to their job (e.g., “Agent, research funding opportunities for project X, summarize the eligibility criteria, and draft an initial email to the program officer.”).
 
 

 

 

Day 5: Synthesis & Cultural Immersion
09:00 – 10:30: Final Synthesis SessionWrap-up discussion for both modules.
 Participants share one key takeaway or one planned action they will implement back at their home institution.
 Networking coffee and awarding of Certificates of Attendance.
12:00 onwards: Guided Tour of the Acropolis & PlakaA professionally guided tour of the Acropolis, connecting the themes of human ingenuity, democracy, and knowledge from the ancient world to our current technological age.
 Followed by a group walk through the historic Plaka district.
