Advice on protecting minors from sexual harassment online and other risks of using the internet and social media (IM).

At the sensitive age of adolescence, children begin to question their parents and raise sterile objections to what they say. On the other hand, they are highly influenced and easily adopt attitudes from friends. It is precisely at this difficult juncture that teachers can help, especially those who have gained the children’s trust and touched them emotionally. But to be able to help effectively, they will need to be able to recognise children facing a pressing issue, and be aware of the risks that can arise in this new and still unknown world of MSM. In this section, you can find short and practical tips with which, as teachers, you can guide your students on how to protect them from sexual (and not only sexual) harassment that takes place via the internet and social media. The advice is accompanied by activities that you can implement in the classroom to raise awareness of students’ rights and prevent the risks of using the internet and social media, such as sexual harassment.
