Cyberno participated in the 14th annual Costeas-Geitonas School Model United Nations (CGS MUN), which focused on “Governance in Cyberspace: Towards e-democracy”. The key issue Cyberno tackled was cyber terrorism, focusing in particular on how children and young people can be radicalized online and recruited by extremist groups.<\/p>

Subjects: <\/strong><\/span><\/p>

Cyberno showed how terrorist groups use online platforms to target vulnerable young people, persuading them to join radical groups through methods such as propaganda and social media. Cyberno emphasized the importance of teaching young people critical thinking and digital safety to protect them from radicalization online. The presentation supported education about identifying online threats and promoting safe online behavior.<\/p>

Results: <\/strong><\/span><\/p>

Cyberno’s participation raised the awareness of conference participants about the real dangers of cyber terrorism and how digital platforms can be manipulated by extremists to radicalize the youth. A role-playing exercise was used to simulate the recruitment process, helping participants to understand the tactics used by recruiters and the psychological impact on vulnerable young people.
